Dominating the view is Val Gardena’s "home" mountain: at 3,181 m high, Langkofel is probably the most imposing Dolomite peak in the Ladin valley. You can enjoy a wonderful view of this striking mountain massif from the balcony of your room in the Granvara Relais & Spa Hotel.
The Langkofel is the main summit of the Langkofel group in the Val Gardena Dolomites and a noted climber’s mountain. The name “Langkofel”, or “Saslonch” in Ladin and “Sasso Lungo” in Italian means “long stone / rock”, and the reason for its name becomes clear when you see it. The first ascent of the “Saslonch” was in 1869 by Paul Grohmann.
