Mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner once described the Dolomites as “the most beautiful mountains in the world”. We can only agree with him, because almost no other mountain range is so rich in diversity and so flawless. Snowy white in the winter; blossoming in a thousand colours during the spring, radiant under a blue sky in the summer and fiery red in the autumn. Follow us on a journey through the four seasons and the magical colours of aholiday in the Dolomites.
WINTER. Nature shrouded in white.
The Dolomites are world famous – not just for their gorgeous hiking trails, but also for the range of winter sports they offer. Whether it’s snow shoe hiking in a fairy-tale forest, skiing on the Dolomiti Superski slopes or cross-country ski tours on the peaceful ski trails: there’s no limit to the winter wonders you can experience on a holiday in the snowy Dolomites.
Our experience tip: Heliskiing trip As a guest in the Granvara Relais & Spa, you can experience an exclusive winter adventure. Fly by helicopter to the foot of the Marmolada glacier to begin a descent you will never forget.
SPRING. When nature awakens.
Spring is a time of awakening and new beginnings, of freshness and vitality. The Dolomites reflect this time of year in their appearance. A little later than in the valley, nature awakens from its hibernation, leaves grow and flowers sprout up. Bluebells poke their heads out from rock crevices, primulas border the meadows and you might even encounter wild orchids. This new life puts you in the mood for fresh air!
Our experience tip: Wellness in the garden During the spring, there’s nothing lovelier than splashing around in the warm water of our outdoor pool and enjoying the sun’s first rays while our 10-hectare garden blossoms all around.
SUMMER. Blue skies and sunshine.
The Dolomites are revealed at their most majestic in summer. Nature is in full swing, lush forests lead into fragrant meadows and the sun smiles down from a deep blue sky on most days. It’s the perfect time for exciting summit hikes, extended walks, mountain biking tours and much more.
Our experience tip: Guided E-bike tour Three times a week, we take our guests on a guided E-bike tour free of charge. This is a completely new way to get to know the Dolomites and an opportunity that you shouldn’t miss!
AUTUMN. Mountains that glow red.
When the sun lies low in the sky during the autumn months, a unique phenomenon occurs in the Dolomites: the mountains light up an intense red, almost like glowing coal. Those who are lucky enough to experience the “Burning Dolomites” will never forget it.
Our experience tip: Sunset hike The best way to enjoy the fiery red Dolomites is during a sunset hike, so set off into the mountain landscape a little later one day – it’s well worth it!
