My summer fairy-tale
Silence. Even though the day is bustling to life outside, there is complete tranquillity in my suite.
I blink into the morning light and feel more rested than ever.
I still can’t really believe it. I am far away from the city, from the paved streets and the hustle and bustle. And I awake in wonderful Granvara, in a new luxury garden suite.
The scent of sweet wood pervades the air, and as I draw back the curtains I am amazed once again. The view of Selva and the mountains!
It is simply incredibly beautiful. Even magical.
A short time later, I enter the restaurant for the first time since its renovation.
Here too, the promises of the host have been fulfilled. It is elegant, grand and the panorama in front of the new glass facade is breath-taking. While I sip my coffee and taste my freshly cooked omelette, I observe an eagle in the sky. High up in the air, it encircles the Dolomites and feels just as free as I do.
After breakfast, I take my time packing my rucksack in peace.
I simply have to be outdoors today. The sun casts its gleaming light on the meadows and forest, and there isn’t a cloud in the sky. So I set off and begin walking into the lush greenery. Without a plan, without rushing, without a care in the world. The scent of freshly cut grass grows stronger and I feel as if I were a child enjoying the freshness of summer once again.
My walk doesn’t last long, but I have something else planned too: fitness.
When, if not on holiday? It takes a while to look around the new Granvara gym. What a selection of high-tech machines. Everything new, everything modern, everything from TechnoGym. I choose a barbell and off I go. I certainly won’t be lacking motivation in this place.
Sweaty but happy, I return to my suite.
I take a warm bath in the king-size tub and slip into my fluffy bathrobe. On the garden terrace, I treat myself to a glass of sparkling wine. As I capture the final rays of the day, I smile to myself. I’ve only been here for a day and there’s still so much to discover. My private steam bath in the suite. The most beautiful mountains in the world. The Granvara Vital Spa. The first evening meal!
Closing my eyes, I relax on the lounger and think to myself:
“What an incredible day that was in the new Granvara!”
