The Saslong in Val Gardena is one of the most celebrated slopes in the world. You can also tackle this track on your ski holiday in our ski resort in South Tyrol. For several days a year, however, it belongs to the world of elite skiing. The men’s Downhill and Super-G are held here annually just before Christmas. And as a spectator, you’re right in the middle of it all.
The centre of the action takes place just 150 metres from the Granvara. Surrounded by countless rejoicing fans. Follow the action and see how the superstars of the scene conquer this historic slope at up to 130 km/h. An experience to make your stay at the Granvara unique. The highlight of this major sporting event is the annual World Cup party that takes place directly after the award ceremony at the finish line.
“You are swept along by the irresistible atmosphere of the World Cup, right from the start. A spine-tingling experience.”
THE MOST SPECTACULAR TRACK IN THE RACE CALENDAR.
The Saslong starts at 2,249 metres on the Ciampinoi above Selva, and stretches over 3.5 km to the finish line in St Christina. Those who want to win must have a perfect racing technique. The slope had its World Cup premiere back in 1969. Since then, Saslong has been a fixed feature of the Ski World Cup. The name of the slope derives from the majestic Sasso Lungo, known as “Saslong” in the Ladin language (translated as “long stone”).
