The tour begins directly from the hotel. We go to direction Selva and take the road right to the centre.
You then follow the more heavily trafficked pass road for just under 2.5 kilometres to Plan de Gralba. The less than 200 metres of altitude difference are quickly covered, and from Plan de Gralba the ascent is noticeably steeper, always in the direction of the Sella Pass. At first the path runs along a gravel road, but then in the upper part it turns into a wonderful narrow trail with some narrow serpentines. Here you can already see the lower foothills of the stone city. All of this is rideable for good bikers with sufficient stamina. If you want to or have to descend, you can already enjoy the impressive view of the steeply towering Sassolungo. From the car park of the gondola to the Forcella Sassolungo, the only slightly ascending path begins right through the stone city "Città dei Sassi". Here you should drive slowly anyway and marvel at the stone witnesses of a rock fall from the Sassolungo several centuries ago in their many forms. The following descent begins with a super trail in the shadow of the Sassolungo. Behind the Rifugio Comici, the route then descends. It's good that the rest of the way to Wolkenstein is almost all downhill. Caution: The varied descent branches off into an inconspicuous path, which you are guaranteed to miss if you don't look carefully at the roadbook or GPS device (waypoint 36). Somewhat surprisingly, there is another 50 metres of ascent before La Selva, but then you roll back to Granvara relaxed and happy.
The rocky ruins of the socalled "Stony Town - Città dei Sassi" at the foot of the Sassolungo are magical points
